When arriving to Iceland the days or two days before the start of a trek or a discovery with Fjallabak, you have the possibility to skip the capital and go straight from the airport to the small village of Hella (or from Reykjavik´s bus station) and to spend one or two nights there in total relaxation. Then the first day of the trek the guide and the ones coming from Reykjavik meet you at Hella.
Our summer base and storage is situated int eh small village of Hella, 90 km East of Reykjavik, at the south of the Mount Hekla volcano on the main circular road n°1.

This only applies to the trekkings and discoveries that take place in the Southern highlands with a starting point at Hella.
Before booking the bus please be certain that you obtain a room in one of the following five accommodations:
Hótel Stracta located by the road N°1 is a modern hotel in a rather comfortable atmosphere which has a lot of different room types. The hotel is equipped with a sauna and hot tubs and a good restaurant.<
River Hotel located by the Rangá river which is famous for its salmon fishing. This hotel is very comfortable with beautiful and bright rooms with private facilities, a restaurant with a view over the river, a lounge ma bar and jacuzzis.
Hotel Arhús is also located by the Rangá river in a idyllic setting of greenery. The rooms are in small wooden chalets equipped with kitchenettes, private bathrooms and a restaurant by the river.
Hotel Hella in the center of the village, more classic, retro style, but clean and comfortable.
Guesthouse Nonni is a cosy and nice little B&B in the village.

- 07:45 Keflavik airport > Reykjavik 08:45 > Hella 09:45
- 17:00 Keflavik airport > Reykjavik 18:00 > Hella 19:00
